Claro!'s core team members have experience as research analysts, board members, as a nonprofit executive director, and as nonprofit consultants. During their combined 40+ years of experience in business, industry, research, health care, public health, and the nonprofit sector they have conducted hundreds of research projects, training sessions and fundraising programs. She has worked with a wide variety of organizations including the Oregon Business Travel Association, the William Temple House, the Oregon Association for the Education of Young Children, Mt. Scott Park Center for Learning alternative school, the Bicycle Transportation Alliance, Technical Assistance for Community Services, Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine, and Legacy Health System. Deborah holds an M.S. in Preventive Medicine (Public Health) from The Ohio State University with concentrations in epidemiology, biostatistics, and health care planning. She also completed a Mini-MBA in Nonprofit Management at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota and holds a Certificate in Financial Management of Nonprofit Organizations from the Minnesota Nonprofits Assistance Fund.
He has consulted extensively for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Gas Research Institute, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), electric utilities and other energy companies, including strategic planning and technology forecasting. E.J. has conducted strategic planning sessions with key staff to establish direction for the Department of Energy, the U.S. Postal Service, Procter and Gamble, Rockwell International, and numerous other corporations. He prepared a technology roadmap that describes necessary R&D over the coming decades to ensure continued global economic and electrification growth without increasing environmental degradation. He has also facilitated discussions with White House Science and Technology advisors, directors of National Labs, corporate CEOs and others to identify and strategize the future direction of biomass, renewable energy sources, nuclear power, electric vehicles and other related issues. He has served in leadership roles on both national and international boards of directors. He has assisted many nonprofits with organizational development issues. Mr. Honton holds an M.A. in Economics from The Ohio State University and completed Ph.D. level econometrics with an energy and public policy economics concentration. He also earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering, cum laude, with minors in Computer Science and Mathematics from The Ohio State University.
