Data Sources that Support Grantseeking Efforts

When writing a grant proposal, it often helps to identify social needs. Many data sources exist that provide background information and economic, social, technological, political and demographic trends. You may want to include pertinent facts and statistics in your needs statement. 

Demographics and Economics

bulletOregon Economic Data - the latest employment and labor force data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics
bulletCrook County Data - population, housing, poverty levels, income, jobs, etc.
bulletGrant County Data - population, housing, poverty levels, income, jobs, etc.
bulletCounty Business Patterns - annual employment by economic sector by county
bulletOregon Population Research Center - the latest official population data and forecasts compiled by Portland State University

Specific Sector Support

bulletAdministration for Children and Families - grants, contracts, research and publication information
bulletNational Center for Education Statistics - extensive data and reports about the U.S. educational system, including information on every school district in the country
bulletHospital Care Use - extensive data on hospital stays and use, including Oregon statistics that compare rural and urban Oregon. Once on this site, go to "State Statistics" and enter "Oregon"
